Meet and Greet with Valerie Reijers
In this the first YWOG meet and greet session of 2025 we will meet Dr Valerie Reijers, Asisstent Professor at Utrecht University. She is a coastal researcher looking into biophysical interactions with the coastal landscape. She has kindly agreed to share her career story and academic experiences with us.
Apart from Utrecht University, Valerie worked at the Radboud University and NIOZ (Royal Netherlands Institute for Sea Research) on various topics like the Wadden Sea islands, dune networks and other coastal landscape formations, from a biogeomorphological point of view. Her work on complex systems and the functions of ecosystem engineering plants helps to determine options for coastal conservation and ecosystem restoration.
The purpose of this event is to meet fellow Young Women in Geoscience in a comfortable and safe setting to exchange experiences and inspiration for you own career. There will be Fairtrade coffee/tea and some (vegan) cake.
Sign-up is appreciated but not required.
See you at 12.00 in VMA 8.82 on the 25th of February, bring your colleague and some lunch if you like 😊
PS. In case you are wondering if you belong to the target audience: if your interest has been peaked, you are welcome 😊.
