International Women’s Day is coming up! To celebrate, the Young Women of Geosciences network is organising a celebratory lunch on 4th March 2024.

What will we do?

During the lunch – which will be provided! – the current committee will give an introduction about the network. We will briefly talk about what we stand for, the events we have organised recently, and plans for the near future.

Most importantly, we would like to hear from you. What questions about diversity and inclusion do you have? And what kind of events would you like the committee to organise? We will discuss these during the lunch.

We are also looking for new members for the committee. If you are interested or curious, we would love to get in touch with you about what kind of contribution you would like to make.
Finally, it is nice to meet like-minded colleagues. There’ll be plenty of time to chat to each other.

I’m not a Woman/I’m not ‘young’, can I still come?

Of course! We invite all Geosciences faculty staff interested in diversity and inclusion to the lunch. Invite your colleagues!

Why 4 March?

To avoid any confusion: International Women’s Day is indeed not on 4 March. But since the NAC (Netherlands Earth Science Congress) falls on International Women’s Day, we decided to organise the lunch earlier in that week. Hope to see you there!
