Meet & Greet – Karlijn van den Broek

In this YWOG meet and greet session we will meet dr. Karlijn van den Broek, Assistant Professor- Sustainable behaviour at the Copernicus Institute.

Karlijn was trained as environmental psychologist at the University of Groningen. Whereafter her internationally oriented career kicked off with a Phd from Bath University (UK), followed by a post doc position at Heidelberg University (Germany) and her various research projects in the Global South.

In her research she specializes on Mental models. Mental models are people’s causal understandings of how systems work: which factors matter, how they are connected, and what can be done to change them.

She has kindly agreed to share her view on how she has experienced the academic system and in particular which factors matter in burn out prevention.

The purpose of this event is to meet fellow Young Women in Geoscience in a comfortable and safe setting to exchange experiences and inspiration for you own career. There will be fairtrade coffee/tea and vegan banana bread.
