Meet and Greet with Professor Niki Frantzeskaki
In the first YWOG meet and greet session of the new academic year we will meet Dr Niki Frantzeskaki, Professor at the department of Human Geography and Spatial Planning. Niki is Chair Professor of Regional and Metropolitan Governance and Planning and from August 1st will be the new Scientific Director of the university wide strategic theme: Pathways to Sustainability.
Her research expertise is urban transitions, governance and planning especially with a view to climate change adaptation resilience and sustainability. She is also developing a community at Utrecht University focused on Nature-Based Solutions in Cities and in March gave her inaugural lecture on ‘The Transformative Nature of Cities’.
In addition, she is the Lead Coordinating Author in the Intergovernmental science-policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES) Transformative Change Assessment, and in the Urban Climate Change Research Network (UCCRN).
She has kindly agreed to discuss her academic career and experiences with us.
The purpose of this event is to meet fellow Young Women in Geoscience in a comfortable and safe setting to exchange experiences and inspiration for you own career. There will be tea and coffee provided.
